MUSIC AND EMOTIONS
Music releases the energy of unlived and repressed emotions, allowing them to be felt and lived “ecologically”. The advantage of music as a tool for the development of emotional intelligence is that it does not have the usual division of emotions into “negative” and “positive”, which makes music an absolutely safe environment for studying any emotional manifestations.
Emotions affect our activities, the decisions that we make or do not make, our mood, communication with other people and our entire life in general. All emotions, from sadness to joy, have meaning and value, as they are the main indicator of our needs. To understand what this or that emotion wants from us, to be able to identify, live and accept them is the most important skill necessary for communication, for understanding of ourselves and others. Building deep personal relationships, the ability to communicate productively in the business sphere, feel comfortable in a team, the ability to listen and hear others, negotiate and defend one's interests: all this requires a developed emotional intelligence.
Music provides a unique opportunity to bring emotions to the level of awareness, as it is a universal language of emotions that has been formed throughout the history of civilization.
